hey, friends!

I'm starting a project. It's called collecticon , and it's organized lists of roleplay icons from all across the internet (Dreamwidth, Insanejournal, Hollow Art, etc.) navigable both by subject (i.e. actresses) and medium (i.e. movies or TV shows). Imagine, as I did before deciding to create this index, that you play a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and you like having lots of sources of icons for the actress in that role, but you also want to see if there are icons of that actress in period costume or when they were younger or, I don't know, appearing in a show where they actually smile occasionally. That's what this is for.

So far, I've got entries and an index up for actresses who've appeared in the MCU proper. That was a pretty big group to start with, and I had to start somewhere. I'm starting to compile actresses from the XMCU (and other auxiliary Marvel projects) next; then I'll probably do the DCEU (and other auxiliary DC projects). Then maybe Star Wars (and maybe other sci-fi)? HBO series? I'm not sure. I'm happy to hear requests.

Tell your friends, or whatever! I'm theoretically interested in bringing other people on board, for example to make lists of icons of actors (since I don't, y'know, icon guys I feel less equipped to peruse guy icons) or animation or something. I also genuinely hope this is helpful for people because, well, a lot of formerly reliable sources are full of links to inactive posts and a lot of currently reliable sources don't include links to old posts that still work, and no sources are organized quite like this.
